The Hewlings Family were early settlers of Burlington, New Jersey. On June 10, 1747, Abraham Hewlings (d.1795) married Susanah Polgreen (d.1754), with whom he had four children: Joseph (b.1748), Thomas Polgreen (b.1750), Abraham (b.1752), and Anne (b.1754). Abraham appointed his sons Abraham and Joseph, along with James Kinsey as the executors of his will. The estate settlement was later disputed by Abraham Hewlings' descendants.
